Today is the day I start thinking about me.
My Journey as a Mom

Today is all about me! When I got pregnant I came to terms with the fact that I was going to gain weight.. I had just spent the better half of the year before I got pregnant losing a ton of weight and I felt good and well looked damn good too! Well weight I did NOT gain while I was pregnant, I was so sick that I actually lost weight in the beginning, and when all was said and down, the night before I gave birth to Jules, 2 weeks overdue, I had only gained somewhere in the park of 22lbs, 9.4 of which were her! After I gave birth I continued to lose more weight as breastfeeding is a great diet! I ate whatever I wanted... cookies, donuts.. you name it, I ate it and the weight kept coming off! THEN Julianna decided that she not longer wanted to breastfeed, cold turkey! I was not ready but she sure was.. at around the 6 month mark. I was also not ready to go back to my "diet" or "new/old" lifestyle of eating.. so I didnt, and kept saying "tomorrow, tomorrow I will get back into the swing of things".. WELL 12 months later and um well lets just say many lbs later, tomorrow has not come! YET!!!! I kept thinking to myself, ok after the next baby I will get back to my goal weight. I have all the "skinny clothes" waiting patiently in the closet, hanging there longing to be worn. Well today I have decided that I can't and will not wait until tomorrow, I must start TODAY! Today is the best day to start! So as of today, I make a promise to myself to get healthy.. for Julianna, for my husband, for the baby that will some day be, and most of all for ME! Today is the day I start to make healthy choices.. Wish me luck!

So Julianna has now found a new love of the outdoors. I think it all started when she learned to dress herself. I mean she always enjoyed going outside now its a MUST. She goes to the door, gets her boots, coat and hat and either puts them on or brings them to us. WHile she is dressing or pleading us to dress her she is shouting "outside, outside.. please momma, outside" With this said, I am PLEADING with mother nature.. please bring spring SOON!!!!!

So here it is almost March 2011 and I havent blogged in MONTHS.... I started many months after giving birth with hopes of remembering and blogging from Jules birth on, well obviously that didnt work! So instead of trying to catch up, im going to just continue from today.
Being a mom, is probably the most rewarding job I have ever done. It has its ups and downs, highs and lows, but I would not trade one single second for anything. Jules is almost 17 months now and no joke she is going on 3. She is funny, witty, loving, smart and independent. We have so much fun together, being her mom brings me so much pride.
When I was first pregnant everyone gave the warnings about morning sickness, sleepless nights, teething etc etc.... what people should really warn you about the year after your MAT leave is up. I would honestly take back any of the above mentioned to have my long days with my precious daughter. No one warned me how hard it would be to leave her every day to head to work. And those who did, all said "dont worry it will get better with time" .... well im still waiting for it to get better. Although I love my job, I love being a full time mom more! 6 months into being back to work, and I still get teary eyed when I drop her off at the sitters. Most morning she kisses me goodbye and runs in to play with my friends children, but its the days that she just doesnt want me to leave that are the hardest! I know in my heart she loves being with the other kids, selfishly I want her to be with me. The lucky part about my job is I have the summer off, so 14 more weeks, and summer vaca will be upon us!

Finding out I was going to be a mom!
I found out I was pregnant at the end of January 2009.... We had been trying since we got married, around 8 months so I had no hope that when I peed on the stick that time, my life would change! I remember waiting for the line to show up and thinking, this is just going to be another disapointing month, I dont know why Im getting excited... the entire time I was thinking this I was staring at a VERY faint positive line... WHAT WHAT WHAT, I couldnt believe it..... I had not told Dan I was taking the pregnancy test, so I hid the test behind my back and went into the living room like nothing had just happened!!! I looked at Dan and said, ok its faint but its there and I showed him... all I can remember is saying, its there right, its there, you see it dont you, dont you!?!?!? Well Dan, although excited said in a very calm voice... yup I see it but maybe you should call the Dr and get a proper test before we get excited!! Well I was sure I was pregnant but called the Dr anyway to make the appointment!!!!!
